Kansas City Chiefs State They Are Aware of Domestic Violence Claims Connected to Player the Athlete
The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of player Rashee Rice and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of Rice by name in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who likewise did not name the athlete directly, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has kids with Rice, whom the team drafted in the second round.
Police Reports Reportedly Not on File
No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the incident is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Legal Issues
The receiver was absent for the initial part of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in instigating a multi-vehicle accident on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. Rice was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to felony charges.
Statistically, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
