Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt prepared to share openly about his profound loss.

"Adequate time has gone by that I can now express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner made him fall in love. "As we began spending more time together I knew this was someone I wanted in my life."

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the film, adding that he cannot recall "one day without mirth".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to guide it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "Asserting that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Friend and Collaborator

In a distinct essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese shared.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he grasped the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

In a new development, a Los Angeles judge ruled to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A legal directive issued a embargo on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" pertaining to the active case.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".
