Barça to Host Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition over two years after they moved out to allow renovations to start.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou on 7 November. They mentioned they were hoping for permission from Uefa to host the next European match versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
